49ers Insider Burns $265,000,000 QB Following Disastrous 3-INT Game Against Panthers

Brock Purdy had a disastrous first half in the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 12 showdown against the Carolina Panthers. This led to insider Grant Cohn heavily criticizing the quarterback on social media.

In a tweet he shared on X, Cohn requested that the team cut Brock Purdy after his disappointing performance in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.

“I have to bench Brock Purdy. I don’t care how much the 49ers pay him.”

In the first half of Monday’s game, Purdy completed 14 of 23 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. However, he also threw three interceptions that raised questions about his skills as a quarterback.

In May, the 49ers paid Purdy a whopping five-year, $265 million contract extension. He started the season as the team’s QB1. However, he missed the majority of the season due to injuries, leading to Mac Jones replacing him.

Purdy made his return in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. He helped the 49ers to a 41-22 victory while completing 19 of 26 passes for 200 yards and three passing touchdowns. The quarterback’s team will improve to 8-4 if they can secure a win against the Panthers in Week 12.
