4 things we learned from the thrilling victory from Barcelona to Clasico

In his last iteration of 2024/25, El Clasico refused to disappoint.
It was an exceptional duels campaign between the two giants of Spain. Two Barcelona roads were followed by a grand final of all time Copa del Rey last month, and there were goals in Gogo in Catalonia on Sunday afternoon.
Travis Scott was present for the extremely significant victory of Barcelona, while the hosts mercilessly took advantage of a defense of Real Madrid which spent a large part of the competition in tribute to the American rapper.
It was a football match as open as you will never see it. There were seven goals, but there could have been at least 67. Each attacker sequence seemed to train a moment of note, and the fight rarely allowed the people involved to appear.
In the end, the Barça triumph 4-3 left them on the verge of the glory of the Liga, while confirming 2024/25 as a season of palpable disappointment in the Spanish capital. Here are four things we learned from the game.
The liga and the double of the Champions League last season seemed ready to be the beginning of a period of real Madrid supremacy in Spain, many suggesting that the rich have only been rich by adding, no doubt, the best footballer in the world to their ranks in Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman, individually, worked well after a fairly slow start. His hat -trick means that he is now leading Robert Lewandowski in the Pichichi ranking with 27 Liga goals, but Mbappe’s goals’ prices is probably the only honor that Madrid Garners was a bitterly disappointing campaign.
Even the master the balancer Carlo Ancelotti could not have merged this set of players. While Madrid to have The ability to purr as a collective, such cohesion has rarely been widespread. Consequently, they have often manifested a rather disjointed form, and the obsolete ideals of ancelotti pale compared to the fascinating principles to which the Barça team adheres.
The defeat of Sunday means that the last year of Ancelotti will end without the national silverware or the Champions League, and it is up to Xabi Alonso to make Madrid operate with the telepathy which made Barcelona advance to the promised land this term.
The only thing that lacks Yamal’s performance against Inter Tuesday was a final touch. While the Spaniard was thwarted by the exceptional Yann Sommer several times in the middle of the week, Yamal was also guilty of producing finishes which did not quite correspond to the quality of his overall performance.
However, the adolescent superstar did not make it possible to talk about a potential problem in the last third to linger on Sunday. In the middle of another divine display of the best in the world, Yamal marked the second in Barcelona with a categorical curling effort.
The winger hung on to launch the Ferran Torres with the greatest intention, subtly folding the ball in front of a desperate courteous Thibaut. Even Tuesday evening, Sommer would not have had a chance.
You think this is the kind of goal that Yamal will get into the habit of scoring.
The objectives were so implacable at Montjuic that they seemed to lose value. We do not know exactly how “funny” this classico was the exposed level of defense.
Flick’s aggressive defensive line worked well when Barcelona was fresh, but this season was an SLOG, and their energy levels without the ball are no longer conducive to highline success. They conceded at least twice in five of their seven previous outings in all competitions, and at least three out of four. If Borja Iglesias ran Riot against this damaged Barcelona team, what did you think that Mbappe and Vini Jr were going to do?
A zonal approach meant that the two Madrid superstars have often endeavored behind without contact. After a turnover, the hosts were immediately vulnerable. Now, it is undeniable that the aggressive line of Flick has been the key to their success this season, helping their ability to suffocate and support, but the defensive posters of Barcelona in the section fold the question of whether such an approach is durable in the long term.
However, although there is a method in the madness of Barça, Madrid was without one idea of how they were going to prevent the local team from winning the Sunday Clasico. They were not well trained outside the possession for a large part of the second mandate of Ancelotti, and the arrival of Mbappe exacerbated their misfortunes without the ball.
You can cross, around and on this back line of Madrid.
Roddrygo has long been planned as a fourth underestimated rider of this Real Madrid attack, but the Brazilian apparently fell into disgrace before a potential summer distance.
After missing the 3-2 victory against Celta Vigo due to an apparent disease, Rodrygo, who played more than 3,200 minutes in all the competitions this season, was back in the Ancelotti team for the Clasico but failed to take on the field.
Something wrong. Ancelotti turned to the beginner Victor Munoz to replace the Junior of Vinicius injured in the fence phases despite the layout of Rodrygo. There was talk of potential departure this summer, and the sudden preference of Ancelotti for Arda Guller suggests that the Brazilian star may well leave the Spanish capital.
It looked like a distinct indication.
