“Coach” (1989-1997)
If you’re craving a little nostalgia this weekend, why not try the classic ABC sitcom Coach? Following Hayden Fox (Craig T. Nelson), the head coach of an NCAA college football team, the series details the ups, downs, and in-betweens of his hilarious personal and professional life as he attempts to incorporate his love for football into every aspect. However, friction is never far away, especially with his partner, who has no interest in sport.
Featuring a well-balanced ensemble, plenty of hilarious one-liners and simple but effective plots, Coach is the kind of throwback that will make you smile and keep it there. Unfortunately, although a revival was ordered 10 years ago and the episodes were filmed, the reboot never aired, leaving fans of the series with the original version to entertain them. Luckily, there are nearly 200 episodes to choose from, with the series having won two Primetime Emmy Awards.
