3 Prime Video Shows You Need to Binge This Week

The post-apocalyptic video game adaptation To fall is currently the number one TV show on Prime Video, which surprises absolutely no one. The popular sci-fi drama series is three episodes into its second season, which has been quite favorably received so far. The series will certainly remain at #1 for the foreseeable future, at least until the season finale on February 4, but while we wait for new episodes, there’s plenty more to explore on the streaming service. Without further ado, here’s a look at three great shows we think you should binge on Prime Video this week, including some truly underrated picks.

“The Girlfriend” (2025)
Adapted from Michelle Frances‘2017 novel, The girlfriend is a psychological thriller miniseries directed by Andrea Harkin And Robin Wrightthe latter also being featured in the series. The series follows Laura (Wright), a wealthy art gallery owner who distrusts that of her son Daniel (Laurie Davidson) new girlfriend, Cherry (Olivia Cooke), and sets out to discover the truth about him. The show also features Walid Zuaiter, Moody asked., Shalom Brune-Franklinand more in supporting roles.
Released on Prime Video in September 2025, The girlfriend received positive critical reception and audience attention with its twisty exploration of love and greed. Although its plot is a bit uneven, the series is elevated from mere pulp by Wright and Cooke’s stellar performances, with their antagonistic chemistry carrying the experience even when the story hits rough patches. Overall, it’s a soapy and entertaining thriller that brilliantly draws drama and tension from the psychologically complex relationship between a mother and her son’s chosen partner.

“Z: The Beginning of Everything” (2015-2017)
Created by Prestwich talent And Nicole York, Z: The beginning of everything is a semi-biographical drama series about a socialite and a writer Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald. Featured Christine Ricci like Zelda, the series is based on Therese Anne FowlerIt is Z: A novel by Zelda Fitzgeraldand follows a fictionalized version of her life, primarily exploring her relationship with her husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald (David Hoflin). The series also features David Strathairn, Christine Bennett Lind, Nathalie Knepp, Christine Nielsen, Jamie-Anne Allman, Maia Kazan, Lucy Waltersand more in key roles.
The pilot episode of Z: The beginning of everything premiered in 2015 to largely favorable reception, but the remainder of its first season wasn’t released until over a year later, in 2017. Although it was initially renewed for a second outing, the series was ultimately canceled by Amazon and has more or less faded from public memory since then. While this means the show’s story is much shorter than it should have been, the series is a delightful and underrated period drama with excellent performances, a passionate story, and gorgeous visuals.

“The Pittsburgh Pradeeps” (2024)
Created by Vijal Patel, The Pittsburgh Pradeeps is a comedy series that revolves around the titular family, who recently immigrated to the United States from India. Presented primarily through flashbacks of an interrogation by INS agents, the series explores the hilarious roller coaster of events that unfolded during the two years the Pradeeps spent in America, leading to a mysterious case of arson at their neighbors’ house. The stars of the series Sindhu Vee, Naveen Andrews, Sahana Srinivasan, Arjun Sriram, Ashwin Sakthivel, Nicholas Hamilton, Ethan SupléeAnd Megan Hilty in leading roles.
Although it didn’t make much of an impression on a wider audience, The Pittsburgh Pradeeps was fairly favorably received by critics after its release. The show was the last to air on Amazon’s free streaming service, Freevee, and was unfortunately not renewed for further seasons, leaving its central mystery unsolved. Despite a disappointing ending, The Pittsburgh Pradeeps is a wild and entertaining show that explores cultural conflicts and the immigrant experience in hysterical fashion.
