For most, December 25 marks the most important date on the calendar for festive reasons. For Netflix subscribers, this marks the return of The Duffer Brothers‘ Stranger Thingsas the second part of season 5 debuts on the global platform. After four successful first episodes at the end of November, which, unsurprisingly, went straight to the top of the streaming charts, Stranger Things is set to deliver three more must-see episodes before the December 31 finale. “Château Rocher” (2018-2019)

With IT: Welcome to Derry continuing to dominate the streaming charts, why not add more Stephen King on your weekend visit? An anthology-style series that draws thematic and narrative inspiration from King’s literary catalog, Castle Rock is set in the titular fictional town, as an array of dark and twisted stories unfold in all their morbid and terrifying glory.
With personalities like Andre Hollande, Jeanne Levyand Pennywise himself, Bill Skarsgard, Castle Rock is another bright and brooding addition to the ever-expanding universe of King adaptations. A Primetime Emmy nominated series with plenty to love, the first season may be superior to the second, but that doesn’t take away from the pulse-pounding rhythms that keep you on the edge of your seat throughout both.

K-drama fans, you’re not left out this weekend either. Written by Kwon Jong-kwan and led by Lee Jung Hyo, The price of confession follows a woman accused of murdering her husband, as she is approached by a menacing stranger who offers her the chance to prove her innocence. The price? Now she must commit her own murder, which will cause another to confess to her husband’s murder.
A tense, mysterious thriller that builds to a thrilling finale, The price of confession book in almost every category. Featuring stellar central performances and an intelligent, twisty narrative, this captivating piece of television is designed to be binge-watched. With 12 episodes available in total, this is the perfect option to keep you hooked all weekend long.

“Emily in Paris” (2020–present)

After a little over a year of absence, Emily (Lily Collins) returns for his big European return in the fifth season of Emilie in Paris. With that in mind, and with Season 5 promising to be the biggest yet as Emily takes on the fashion world in Rome, there’s been no better time for the uninitiated to dive headfirst into this indulgent, easy-to-watch Netflix romantic comedy-drama.
Creator Darren Star‘s steamy workplace series is the perfect piece of Parisian escape after those dark, cold winter nights. Featuring an immersive performance from Collins, the series isn’t the most critically acclaimed, but what it does expertly is deliver plenty of gripping drama on beautiful, picture-perfect sets. That being said, Emilie in Paris has still earned nine Primetime Emmy nominations during its run to date, mostly in technical categories such as costume and hairstyling.
