28 years later, concerts return to Camp Randall with Morgan Wallen headlining | Things to do

For the first time in 28 years, live music returned to the Randall Stadium camp in Madison and Morgan Wallen made sure that it was unforgettable. Whether fans came for music, beer or both, the presence of the Country superstar was felt far beyond the scene.
Madison (WKOW) – For the first time in 28 years, live music returned to Camp Randall stadium on Saturday, with Country Morgan Wallen music artist headlining the event. Thousands of fans attended the concert, attracting large crowds inside the stadium and in the city center of Madison. The event marked a notable change for the place, mainly known for university football, and reported a renewed interest in bringing large -scale musical events to the historic stage.
Fans are heading for the Randall camp stadium on Saturday, ready to discover the first concert in almost three decades.
A few hours before the opening of the doors, the city center of Madison took an atmosphere similar to a festival. Regent Street was filled with activity as the bars reached capacity, the DJs played music from patios and crowds gathered throughout the region. Parking has become rare, with a few places at $ 100. Even fast food chains like Jimmy John have seen extensive lines, reflecting the high participation rate and the energy surrounding the event.
On the other side of the street, a group of entrepreneurial children has installed a stand of lemonade and beef stick, joining the activity of the day. “I could save him … Maybe for the university,” said one of them smiling.
For many local residents, the return of concerts at Camp Randall represented more than live music – it was a reminder of the community spirit and shared experiences that major events bring to Madison.
“It’s like match day,” said a participant. “There is this energy, but also a feeling of connection. We need more of that … People come together.”
And for others, the event was there for the first time when they saw Madison. “It’s super cute here,” said a visitor. “Everyone is so happy and excited. I come back for Coldplay who fascinates me.”
With COLDPLAY, which is expected to perform next month, the Camp Randall stadium should recover as the first place of summer music in Madison.
