Sean Hannity defends Trump against Maga Radio Caller upset by Trump’s position on Ukraine
Calling: I often listen to your program and I am a supporter of President Trump. I called to say that I am disappointed with your position that you think you are giving up – that Ukraine abandoning land at the moment is the right way to follow.
Sean Hannity (host): When did I already say that it was my position that I think that Ukraine – that I want Ukraine to abandon land? When did I say that?
Call: You didn’t say that, but you think that’s how it will have to go.
Hannity: I think it’s the way you ask me for an analysis, which is different from what I want. I don’t like the fact that you reward a country that invades an innocent country, and they find themselves with more land. I don’t like the principle of this one. However, given the choices, where we are, I think it is reality. If there is an agreement, this is where it will land, in my opinion.
Call: And I understand that, but I do not agree at the moment. President Trump said that if President Putin was not going to stop fighting in Ukraine, he would face serious sanctions. We haven’t tried this. And I think it must be done first, and he must say: “Get out of Ukraine, stop the fights, or these sanctions will be put in place.”
Hannity: We know what the serious sanctions will be. It’s very simple. It is not complicated. The sanctions will be exactly what President Trump has started, and the sanctions will be like EU’s trade agreement. And European countries will now buy more and more from their energy and not from Russia. This then cuts off the funding of his war machine. I think the president also puts pressure on other countries as he did with India, 50% price. I think everything is in place. I think the president will continue to sell weapons to Ukraine. But if you do not get an agreement, and I am – and I think the president is very realistic in terms of what is possible. I’m not saying that I like it. I just say that this is where I think it ends, if it will end.
