106 & Sports airs tonight on BET | News

Get ready with “106 & Sports,” BET’s sports and culture countdown show, officially airing tonight, Wednesday, October 15, at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on BET. The episodes will air the following day on BET+.

Co-hosted by NFL legend Cam Newton and an acclaimed media powerhouse Ashley Nicole MossExpanding on the legacy of BET’s acclaimed “106 & Park,” which celebrates its 25th anniversary, the series blends “the athlete’s unfiltered perspective with sharp, fearless commentary, directly tapping into the fan energy that drives the game.”

The launch of the new era of the sport begins with Newton and Moss welcoming their first guest, Claressa Shields, the undisputed women’s heavyweight champion. She has the distinction of holding all four major titles (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO) and is the only boxer, male or female, to hold undisputed titles in three different weight categories. Also, frost ball stops to discuss shining at the intersection of family, music and sports. Newton and Moss will also count the biggest sporting and cultural moments of the week.

Executive produced by LeBron James And Maverick Carter The SpringHill Company, Fulwell Entertainment’s award-winning studio, featuring Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, And Courtney Whitaker. Tiffany Lea Williams And Mimi Blanchard act as executive producers.

In anticipation of the series, Newton common that “106 & Sports” will be unlike any other show.

“It’s not just a show about sports, it’s a show about the culture that makes up the game,” Newton said. “When I think of ‘106 and Park,’ I remember what a voice he was for the culture. Now we do the same thing for sports. This is where you’ll get the real talk, the authentic ideas, and the kind of conversations you won’t find anywhere else.
