By keeping this in mind, here are all the Easter eggs, references and connections that we found in James Gunn Superman.
An expansion of the DCU chronology
With a text opening analysis, Superman Reveals that metahumans have existed in the DCU for 300 years, opening the door to older characters like Wonder Woman and the Amazons, and perhaps even justice Society of America during the Second World War.
99
3 decades
Superman’s DCU age
The opening exhibition also confirms that Superman landed on earth as a baby three decades before, confirming that the new DCU Superman is at the start of the thirties.
98
“Gods and monsters”
Chapter one
The text also mentions “gods and monsters”, which happens to be the title that James Gunn gave this first chapter of the DCU projects.
97
Krypto
Inspired by James Gunn’s real dog
Organizing comics as superman super power canine, the Krypto of the DCU has many more behavioral problems, its appearance and personality are inspired by the real rescue dog of James Gunn Ozu. Like Ozu, Krypto is the same race, always has an ear held and constantly tries to bite Superman’s feet (just like Ozu tries to do with the Superman director according to Gunn himself).
96
Alan Tudyk’s last appearance of DCU
He already has several roles
Having already expressed several animated characters in the DCUs Creature commandos Series, including Doctor Phosphorus and Clayface, Alan Tudyk expresses Superman Robot # 4, who then named “Gary” at his own request.
95
Superman robots
Very all-star
Serving as guards in the fortress of loneliness, the superman robots are very inspired by their representation All-star Superman.
94
Some familiar superman robot voices
“Our poor superman …”
While the # 4 of Tudyk is the main robot of Superman Kal-El with, robots n ° 1 and # 5 are expressed respectively by Michael Rooker and Pom Kelétieff, which were both in previous projects of James Gunn like the Galaxy goalkeepers franchise.
93
Superman’s new “S” logo
Inspired by a particular comic strip of steel
Rather than being a manifest letter “seen with past iterations, the logo on the chest of the DCU Superman is more diagonal, the extraterrestrial seal of El’s house. It is also very similar to the logo” S “seen on Superman’s chest in the comic strips Kingdom come scenario.
92
Bradley Cooper plays Jor-el
The voice of the rocket
Actor Bradley Cooper plays Father Kryptonian from Superman, Jor-El, who previously worked with James Gunn as a Rocket Racco-Racco voice in the Galaxy goalkeepers movies.
91
Superman title
Honor Richard to give
The opening title with the name and the logo very much reflects the opening of the 1978s Superman: the movie by director Richard DON.
