State senator Angela Paxton announced Thursday that she had a divorce from her husband, the Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton.
“I believe that marriage is a sacred alliance and I sincerely sought reconciliation,” said Angela Paxton, R-MCKINNEY, in an article on X. “But in the light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that she honors God or loves myself, my children or Ken to stay in marriage.”
In his own declaration, the Attorney General Paxton cited the “pressures of countless political attacks and public exam” as the reason why the couple “decided to start a new chapter”.
The Attorney General Paxton is currently presenting himself against the American senator John Cornyn in the republican primary next year, after almost a decade as a attorney general. Senator Paxton was elected in 2019 to represent the district of the Northern Senate of Texas that her husband represented before her elevation at the State Office. She was re -elected to another four -year term in November.
Paxton’s assessment to prosecute the Biden administration aggressively aggressively is equal to its penchant for the scandal, culminating in its dismissal by the House of Representatives of Texas in 2023. The Senate controlled by the Republican acquitted it after a trial of almost two weeks.
Angela Paxton attended her husband’s trial, but was not authorized to vote on questions or participate in the deliberations to condemn or pay.
The accusation complaints focused on the services that Paxton brought to the Austin Nate Paul real estate developer, as well as an alleged extramarital case that the Attorney General had with a former Senate assistant. According to the investigators, the case ended briefly in 2019 after Angela Paxton learned it, then resumed in 2020. The woman with whom he had an affair was called to testify in front of the Senate and came to the House, but left without speaking.
