Daniel Levy descends as president of Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur announced the departure of President Daniel Levy after almost 25 years.

The director of Spurs – and the oldest president of the Premier League – left his role at the North London Club after taking over in 2001 and built the club in a world power.

A Levy declaration said: “I am incredibly proud of the work I did with the management team and all our employees.

“We have built this club in a world heavyweight in competition at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community.

“I had the chance to work with some of the biggest people in this sport, from the Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way team to all players and managers over the years.

“I want to thank all the fans who have supported me over the years. It has not always been an easy trip, but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”

Levy has helped to supervise Tottenham’s rise in power in recent years, to build one of the best stadiums in the world and ultimately put an end to his drought of 17 -year -old trophy.

Charrington takes over

Peter Charington has entered the role of non -executive president following the change.

He added: “I am very honored to become non -executive president of this extraordinary club and, on behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Daniel and his family for their commitment and their loyalty to the club for so many years.

“This is a new era of leadership for the club, on and off the field. I recognize that there have been many changes in recent months when we are setting up new foundations for the future.

“We are now fully focused on the stability and empowerment of our talented people through the club, led by Vinai and her management team.”
