How had they qualified for the Club World Cup?
Hope of Tunis qualified for the FIFA 2025 club World Cup thanks to the CAF classification system. Although they did not win the CAF Champions League between 2021 and 2024, they constantly progressed deep in the tournament, accumulating enough classification points to secure one of the African slots in the extended format of 32 teams.

Hope appeared at the Club World Cup several times with mixed results. They participated for the first time in 2011 and returned in 2018 and 2019 after winning CAF Champions League. In 2018, they finished fifth and 2019, they again obtained fifth place after beating Al Sadd in the qualification match.
How did they play during the 2024/25 season?
Espérance successfully defended its title Ligue 1 and also won the Tunisian Super Cup. The Tunis outfit also finished the high servants in June while they were beating Tunisian stadium in the Tunisian Cup final.

Hope is currently managed by the former Tunisian international Maher Kanzari. The 52-year-old has had a nomadic career but is back with the North African team for his third spell on the sidelines.
Who is their star player?
The Espérance outside player is Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, a versatile defensive midfielder who is also known to fill in the central defender. Tunisian international to start, Ben Romdhane was a central figure in the club’s national and continental campaigns.
